NORTH DOWN BOROUGH COUNCIL
Art of Regeneration
Call for Visual Artists



The North Down Art of Regeneration Project requires 2 visual artists to realise innovative socially engaged public art works in the Kilcooley and Loughview estate areas of North Down. The project aims to use public art to influence regeneration in each estate area.

Visual artists would be responsible for:
• Liaison with community residents.
• Organisation of slide presentations and workshops
• Workshops leading to the creation of artworks
• Planning of artworks in collaboration with community residents
• Completion and siting of artworks within the communities

Each post would be on a part-time basis spread across up to approximately 6 months, artists would be expected to have at least 2 hours contact time per week with the community. Each artist would be paid a total fee of £5,250. A materials budget of £12,500 would also be available for each project.

Applicants must have a relevant 3rd level visual arts qualification/experience, including recent work experience of leading visual arts workshops and public art experience. Artists should submit a Cover Letter, CV and 8-10 images of recent works/projects (preferably on CD) to the Arts Officer, North Down Borough Council,Town Hall,The Castle, BANGOR BT20 4BT not later than 4.00pm on Friday 27 April 2007.
